Simpul Pangan Nusantara: Scientific Conference on Sustainable Food Systems. Building Food Self-Sufficiency for Climate Resilience from the Ground to the Landscape in South Sulawesi Province

Land4Lives, in collaboration with the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Development Agency (Bappelitbangda) of South Sulawesi Province, presents the Simpul Pangan Nusantara: Scientific Conference on Sustainable Food Systems. Under the theme “Building Food Independence for Climate Resilience from the Site to the Landscape,” this second series of the event is held offline on October 7, 2026, in Makassar. This conference serves as an inclusive multi-sectoral forum aimed at connecting various best practices, technological innovations, and local wisdom at the grassroots (site) level so that they can influence and align with macro policies at the landscape level in an evidence-based manner.

The event series is designed to disseminate research findings and bridge communication between the scientific community and decision-makers. The main activities of the conference include a Scientific Paper Seminar and a Scientific Poster Exhibition, which will showcase various case studies, program innovations, and climate-smart agriculture from academics and researchers. In addition, the conference features a “Semeja Makan” (At the Same Table) session, an interactive and equal multi-stakeholder dialogue. This session brings together policymakers, researchers, food activists, and students to exchange critical, cross-generational ideas in order to find solutions for ever-evolving food and agricultural issues.
