Governance & Policy

Focuses on improving land use governance and policy-making for climate change mitigation and adaptation for poor and vulnerable communities, and reducing emissions from land use, land use change, and forestry.

Increasing the capacity of local governments to plan and implement nature-based solutions to climate-smart land use and pro-poor, gender-responsive, landscape-based and sustainable livelihoods development at the provincial level.

Increasing the capacity of provincial governments to develop pro-poor and gender-responsive climate change policies and financing schemes in three provinces and in line with national-level policies.

Increasing the capacity of provincial and national governments to disseminate knowledge and information that will improve farmers’ capacity to manage landscapes.

Work Package 2

Landscape Management

Focusing on improving landscape management by land managers and users in maintaining environmental functions and services to meet the various needs of the community, both women and men.

The existence of forest and landscape restoration policies and programs that can encourage the participation of vulnerable groups, especially women.

Improving water resources and watershed management for Climate Change adaptation.

Empowering management in making decisions on land use and environmental protection for Climate Change mitigation and adaptation.

Climate Resilient Livelihoods

Focusing on improving climate-resilient livelihoods and food security for vulnerable communities, especially women.

Improving farmers’ access to innovative financing, value chains, and gender-sensitive green markets.

Improving farmers’ knowledge and capacity in climate-smart agriculture to increase productivity and profitability.

Increasing knowledge and equal access to healthy and nutritious local food sources and improving the nutritional intake of all community members.
