Dissemination of the Sustainable Jurisdictional Indicators Pilot Results in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra Province

As a concrete step in supporting sustainable development and plantation governance, Muara Enim Regency has been selected as a pilot area for the preparation of a Sustainability Report based on the Sustainable Jurisdictional Indicators (SJI). This selection is based on Muara Enim’s strategic role in the supply chains of coffee, oil palm, and rubber commodities in South Sumatra. To disseminate the findings and recommendations of this report, the Dissemination of the Sustainable Jurisdictional Indicators (SJI) Pilot Results in Muara Enim Regency will be held. This event aims to strengthen cross-sectoral commitments—ranging from ministries and local governments to development partners and associations—in implementing natural resource governance that balances economic growth, community welfare, and environmental sustainability.

This in-person event will take place at the Bappeda Meeting Hall, Palembang, on September 2 or 3, 2026 (to be confirmed). The main agenda focuses on a presentation regarding the national policy direction for the SJI concept within the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) by representatives of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, followed by the dissemination of the Muara Enim SJI Sustainability Report’s achievements by the SJI Working Group. In addition, a technical learning session on report preparation will be facilitated by ICRAF Indonesia to share best practices that can be adopted by other regencies/cities in South Sumatra Province. The event will culminate in a multi-stakeholder dialogue and discussion to formulate follow-up actions for sustainable plantation management and global trade.
